OK, so we get something like 70 percent of our oil from Middle Eastern Countries that utterly HATE Zionist America. Would it not make sense in these volatile times to move forward with a backup plan while our best and brightest are surely working their butts off to become Billionaires by coming up with an alternative energy source that actually works, is cost effective, is environmentally safe, and maybe even renewable without destroying some other part of the economy. i.e Ethanol and the resultant cost of Corn... That is why I can't understand why it is an issue to drill our own oil in the mean time. The insanity of allowing Cuba and I think some other country to drill off the coast of Florida and then sell us back our oil while not allowing American companies to drill there is more than beyond me. As stated before in the blog, that may not be entirely true, but it is my understanding of what is going on.
Also, there is this whole thing with Iran threatening that they will close the Strait of Hormuz to exportation if we make them angry. Wouldn't it be nice to say Go ahead you maniac, we don't need your oil. See how you do without our dollars. I don't know, it just seems like a no brainer to me, but I'm sure Jon will have a completely different take on the whole thing as usual...
